Obituary

Naomi Woodson Cummings, 90, of Monticello's Wacissa Community finished her earthly course on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Homegoing services are 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Tallahassee, with burial in Bethpage Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 5-7 p.m. Sunday, October 29, at Bethpage M.B. Church, Wacissa. Mrs. Cummings was a graduate of Greenville Training School where she was valedictorian of her class. She was the widow of William "Bill" Cummings who passed in 1995 after 36 years of marriage. She was an educator in the Jefferson County School District for over 35 years. Mrs. Cummings was a pillar of her community and a rock in her church, Bethpage, where she held virtually every position of consequence. Survivors include her only daughter, Carmen Cummings (Dexter) Martin; grandchildren: Chabrea, Dexter and Nicholas Martin; siblings: Louise Burnett, Alberta Williams, Alicia Thomas, Barbara Watson, Edna Knight, Milvie Hill and Donald Henry; and countless other loving relatives and friends.
