Patricia Dupont Washington was born on July 4, 1951, in Havana, Florida to Ms. Inez Quarterman and Mr. Ralph Dupont. Both parents preceded her in death.
Patricia was born and raised in Gadsden County. She received her education at Pine Park School in Havana, Florida. At an early age, she was baptized and became a devoted member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in Havana, Florida.
Patricia had an affectionate smile that could light up any room, and her warm spirit touched everyone she met.
Patricia retired from Wight's Nursery in Cairo, Georgia, where she worked in horticulture and took great pride in nurturing and growing things with care. After her retirement, she continued serving others as a devoted domestic worker, faithfully caring for several families and their homes throughout Gadsden County and Leon County.
Patricia had a deep love for cooking, and nothing brought her more joy than preparing meals and sharing them with her loved ones. Her kitchen was a place of comfort to her.
Patricia was also a faithful thriftier, rarely missing her weekly visit to the Goodwill Cent store. While she enjoyed finding special treasures for herself and her family, what truly filled her heart was giving. If she knew someone in the community was in need and she was able to help, she would gladly fill her bag with items to bless them. Her generosity was quiet but constant, and her giving spirit reflected the kindness she carried within.
Patricia leaves to cherish precious memories, her three sons: Pastor William (Sonya) Showers, Roderick (Lakista) McKnight and Deandre (Camelia) Showers. Five grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three sisters: Shelly Mills, Annie Quarterman and Sylvia Key; three brothers: Shawn Herring, Kevin Herring and Ralph Dupont Jr.; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mrs. Washington and to serve the Washington Family.
