In Remembrance of our Beloved

Mrs. Patricia Brown Wilson

Patricia Brown Wilson was the beloved daughter of Gillis Lee Brown and Gertrude White Brown. Patricia was born in Asbury Park, New Jersey on September 15, 1952. Her parents and her brother: Thomas Harvey Brown, all preceded her to Glory.

Patricia spent her early years in her native Asbury Park when she was in about eighth grade, she moved with her parents to Winter Park, Florida where through ninth (9th) grade, she attended Glen Ridge Junior High School. Her high school years were spent at Winter Park High school where she graduated in 1970. She continued her education at Florida A&M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She later would be awarded her master’s degree.

For a number of years, Patricia was employed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE). She last served as a Staff Training and Development Specialist. From FDLE, she began her second career with Leon County Schools where she worked as an Aide for special needs Students.

Patricia married the love of her life, Lawrence Woodrow Wilson, Jr. and to their union, a son, Herron Gabriel Wilson, was born. Sadly, Lawrence preceded Patricia to Glory on September 25, 2021. She was a devout Christian, who grew up in a Christ-centered home.

In Tallahassee, she attended several churches and most recently she affiliated with Mission Road Church after having been a regular attendee of Lloyd First Baptist Church and Souls Port Pentecostal Church. She loved Tuesday night Bible Studies whether in person or via Zoom.

Patricia enjoyed cooking, baking and gift-wrapping. One who exhibited love and compassion unashamedly, she was known for sending greeting cards for every holiday or occasion, regardless of how insignificant the day may have been.

On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, God Almighty summoned Patricia Brown Wilson Home for her eternal rest. She leaves to treasure her love and memory, her loving son: Herron Gabriel Wilson of Tallahassee, FL; stepdaughter: Akeia (Christopher) Dickinson of Huntsville, AL; nephew-caregiver: Khari Brown of Lauderdale Lakes, FL; a first cousin, who was like a sister: LeJune Legon of Orlando, FL; a host of other relatives and loving friends.
