Pauline Speed Harris was the daughter of Wilson Speed and Mary Lou Brinson Salter, both who have preceded her in death. Pauline was born in her mother's hometown, Monticello, Florida on October 23, 1956.

Pauline grew up and attended the public schools of Jefferson County. She completed her education at Jefferson County High School. She then entered the workforce and worked for several years as a Healthcare Associate at Nellie's Retirement Inn, which was an adult congregate living facility. Years later, Pauline moved to Quincy, Florida to be closer to her mother. In Quincy, she worked at a linen plant. Years later, she married Will Harris, who preceded her in death.

One who knew the Lord and all His goodness, Pauline confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior several years ago. She served as a member of East Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully under the Reverend Ronald Wiggins, Sr.

On Thursday, May 21, 2026, Sister Pauline Speed Harris, while hospitalized in Tallahassee, went Home to be with the Lord. Her love and memory will be cherished forever by her loving daughters: Lafay Speed, Monticello, FL and Vanessa (Jesse) Pennywell of Quincy, FL; stepchildren: Felicia Harris, Kevin Harris and Willie (Tangela) Harris, Jr.; five devoted grandchildren: Jevonte Speed and Derices Dunlap, Jr., both of Monticello, FL, Jevonshay Thompson and Cadeshia Jones, both of Tallahassee, FL and Taylor Pennywell of Quincy, FL; sisters: Mary Powell, Deborah (Sammie) Leonard and Emma (James) Bradley, all of Monticello, FL; brothers: William "Rick" (Jacqueline) Brinson and Jimmy Speed, both of Monticello, FL and Robert Richardson of West Palm Beach, FL; godchildren: Shericka (Wingo) West, Atlanta, GA, Keymira Kirksey, Tanisha Hill and Janekeya Hill, all of Monticello, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and loving friends.
