Penny Murrell Lyons, 72, of Tallahassee unexpectedly passed on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Funeral services are 12 noon Friday at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Thursday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE. Penny's parents moved the family to Palm Springs, CA when she was a young child. She was a 1970 graduate of Palm Springs High School. She enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving 20 years of active duty before retiring. She had worked in Daytona Beach at Embry-Riddle Aeronauticals and was most recently employed at FSU. Penny was a devoted member of Sweetfield M.B. Church, Monticello. Survivors include her husband, Willie A. Lyons; stepdaughter: Eboni Lyons; grandchild: Jasmine Summers; siblings: Doris Murrell, Beverly (Kenneth) Chester, Ivory (Ceatrice), Terry (Belinda), David (Linda), Michael (David) and Craig (Penny) Murrell; and a host of other relatives and friends.
