Homegoing Program for Mr. Richard Demps
It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. Richard L. Demps , age 69, of Greenville, Florida, who departed this life on Sunday, February 8, 2026.
Viewing-visitation for Mr. Demps will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 20, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO CHAPEL (850-997-5553).
Homegoing Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 154 SW Ray Charles Ave, Greenville, Florida 32331, with the interment to follow in the Tallahassee National Cemetery at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 23, 2026.
RICHARD LEE DEMPS was the beloved son of James Clarence Demps and Ora Vincent Demps. He was born in Madison, Florida on November 17, 1956.
RICHARD was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings: James C. Demps, Jr., Clarence Demps, Elmo Demps, Blanche Jackson, Joan M. Demps, Ruth Livingston and Marvelous Demps. RICHARD grew up in Madison County and shortly after leaving Greenville Training School, he served a full stint in the United States Army. Upon being honorably discharged, he settled in Greenville and later married the former Robin Reddick.
RICHARD served faithfully as a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He was appointed as a member of the Trustee Board. He was an active participant in the church Choir. For many years, RICHARD was employed as a successful logger. In his leisure, fishing and spending quality time with his grandchildren were always top priority.
On Sunday, February 8, 2026, RICHARD surrendered to the Will of God and went Home to forever be with the Lord. Among those whom he leaves his love include his wife of 36 years: Robin Reddick Demps; daughters: Shamekqua Scott and Laketia Demps; goddaughter: Antonia Denson; son: Jaquese Demps; grandchildren: Cedric Jones, Cam Jones, Aniya Jones, Mekhi Roberson, Ryleigh Roberson, Jaterrius Demps and Jayden Morris; sisters: Ruby (William) Noble, Glynavus Powell, Clarice Demps and Cora Demps; along with countless nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Demps and to serve the Demps Family.
