Richard Kenneth Kitchen, Jr., 70, passed on Monday, August 21, 2023. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at Pilgrim Rest P.B. Church, 3727 Woodville Highway. Richard had worked for Florida State University and the Leon County School System. Survivors are his loving wife, Carolyn Kitchen; son, Gerald Caldwell; daughters: Deanna (Anthony) Banks and Janel (Marcus) Herring; 20 grandchildren; 1 grandson he helped raise, Jamel George; 1 great grandson; stepmother, Lossie Kitchen; brothers: James (Patricia) Pryor, Frederick (Ledina) Hansell and Grady & Dewight Kitchen; sisters: Helen (Robert) Hendrieth, Mary (George) Hines, Patricia (David) Jones, Juliet Lee, Kathaleen Hope Gamble and Shelia Hansell; and countless other relatives and friends.
