Richard Roberts, 77, of Monticello passed unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 10, 2024. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Phillip AME Church, with burial in the Church Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at St. Phillip. Richard was a 1969 graduate of Howard Academy and he attended Suwanee River Junior College before graduating from Florida A&M University in 1968. He had been a teacher, a Department of Corrections Manager, an employee with the Office of Attorney General and as a Salesperson with Toyota. Richard was a Steward at St. Phillip. Cherishing his love are his wife, Jeanette Butler-Roberts; daughters: Evelyn Joy Mitchell (Ronald) and Cathy Jackson (Donnie); sons: Sean Roberts (Ananda) and Jason Roberts (Erin); brother, Abram Roberts (Tina); sisters: Betty Norton and Earnestine Wood (Willie); 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
