A TIME TO BE BORN :
Ricky Lamar "Slick" Sherman was born to Herbert Sherman, Jr. and Marie Davis Sherman on February 19, 1970.

A TIME TO LIVE :
During his early years, Ricky attended W. T. Moore Elementary School, Cobb Middle School and Lincoln High School, graduating in 1989. He later attended Lively Vocational Technical School, where he earned his HVAC certification. Ricky Sherman confessed Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized in the year of 1997 under the leadership of the now-late Pastor Gregory Pittman. He attended St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Cecil Gardner, Sr. He later married his high school sweetheart, the former Wilma Washington, tying the knot in August 1997. Their one and only daughter was born five years later. A gift of laughter, Ricky Sherman, affectionately known as "Slick", was often the personality of the room, always striking up a conversation with anyone he met. One of Ricky's greatest joys was spending time with his family and friends, creating lifelong memories filled with loved and laughter. He was a devoted fan of the Florida State Seminoles and enjoyed watching football with friends and family during the season.

Outside of football season, he enjoyed a good western, cartoons, racing, comedy's, and mysteries (especially Monk). Beginning his professional career directly after high school, Ricky held a variety of jobs in the HVAC field before working as a Boiler Mechanic with the Gadsden County School Board for eighteen years. Outside of his work with the school board, he remained devoted to his craft and would always lend a helping hand in the community by assisting with people's HVAC needs. His legacy lives on in the memories held dearly by his loved ones and the lives of the people he has encountered.
