It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. Russell Dillard , age 68, of Quincy, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950), with Burial at 1:00 p.m. in the Tallahassee National Cemetery, 5015 Apalachee Pkwy, Tallahassee, FL 32311.

Viewing-visitation will be 2 hours prior to the Funeral Service.

Born to Alfreda Hicks, Russell was raised in a large family filled with love and resilience. He was preceded in death by his mother; and his siblings: Oscar "Buddy" Dillard, Gary Dillard, Nadine Hardy, Michael Dillard, Estelle Dillard, Nicole Smalls Dillard and Katrina Dillard.

Russell attended Central Regional High School where he participated in wrestling and football. His competitive spirit, determination, and love for sports remained with him throughout his life. A proud patriot, Russell enlisted in the United States Army and honorably served his country. Throughout his working years, he held many roles and was known for his strong work ethic and dedication. He worked at Admiral Farragut Academy in Tom River, New Jersey, worked as a mechanic, and later cared for others through his work as a CNA at Michael E. DeBakey Medical Center (Veterans Affairs Hospital) in Houston, Texas.

Russell had a passion for life and truly enjoyed the outdoors. He loved boating, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Whether spending time on the water, enjoying the open road, or simply being around family and friends, Russell made lasting memories everywhere he went.

Russell was united in marriage to Regina Angle Dillard on October 16, 1999, in Herkimer, New York. Together, they shared 27 years filled with love, loyalty and companionship. He was previously married to Angela Showell Dillard on August 20, 1977, and they shared 16 years of marriage together.

Russell departed this life on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare, surrounded by the love of family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend whose love, strength, and unforgettable spirit touched everyone who knew him. RUSSELL leaves behind a beautiful legacy through his loving and devoted wife: Regina Angle Dillard; his children: Neitra Dillard, Russell Dillard, Jr., Charliea Williams, Katrina Dillard, Makayla Dillard, Darius Dillard, Darren Dillard and Dale Dillard. He was also the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren, whom he loved deeply: eight through Neitra; six through Russell Jr.; two through Charliea; and one through Makayla. His grandchildren brought him joy and were one of his greatest blessings. He also had one brother: Phillip Dillard; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends whom he adored.

Russell "Peanut" Dillard will be remembered for his strength, humor, wisdom, hardworking spirit, and unconditional love for his family. Though he may no longer walk beside us, his legacy and memories will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
