Samuel Lee Heyward, 65, answered the Master's Call on Sunday, December 3, 2023. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, at Bethel AME Church, with burial in Southside Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Sam earned his Bachelor's degree in Accounting from FAMU. He had been employed by Coca Cola Company, retiring as a District Sales Manager, Orlando, and Bethel AME Church as Office Assistant. Sam had served as a Steward, Usher, Class Leader, A.J. Kershaw Board member, President of the Sons of Allen and Receptionist-Counselor for A Life Recovery Center. Cherishing his love and legacy are his devoted wife, Leola Hayes Hayward; daughter, Iris Nicole Heyward (Tyrell Gavin); stepson, Alvin Williams, Jr.; granddaughters: Ivy Leeann Gavin, Trinity and Grace Williams; grandson, Israel Williams; sister, Sabreen McGee (Horace); and countless other relatives and friends.
