January 20, 1945 – September 8, 2025
Samuel Adolphus Madison, Sr., 82, of Monticello completed life's journey on Monday, September 15, 2025. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 26, at Memorial M.B. Church, with viewing from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553). Interment with military honors will be in the Tallahassee National Cemetery. Sam graduated from Howard Academy High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. Sam attended FAMU and worked as Owner-operator of his Sanitation firm, Police Officer for the City of Monticello, and Sworn Officer (Marshal) with the Florida Supreme Court. He was a member of Solomon Lodge # 6, PHA; founding member of VFW Post 251 and a longtime member of Memorial M.B. Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary McQuay Madison; daughter, Teresa Madison (Dwayne) Precia; sons: Reginald (Krista) and Samuel (Saskia) Madison; 8 grandchildren; sister, Delores White and two devoted nephews, Adrian and Eric White and countless other relatives and friends.
