It is with heartfelt sympathy, we announce the passing of Mrs. Shelley D. Cross, 63 of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 6, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950).

Shelley Denise Cross was born on February 15, 1963, to Samuel D. and Esther L. Cross. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother: John Cross.

In 1997, Shelley married Michael Houston, Sr. and together they built a loving family centered on faith, strength and commitment.

Shelley was a retired Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) with over 30 years of dedicated service. Her last employment was serving as lead CAP Team Associate at Walmart. She was known as a strong-willed provider who loved to joke and bring laughter to others.

Shelley was sweet, caring and especially enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

On Saturday, May 23, 2026, God Almighty summoned Shelley Denise Cross Home for her eternal rest. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband: Michael Houston, Sr.; daughters: Nakesha Rena Houston (Al Knight) and Whitney (Lashay) Houston; son: Michael Houston, Jr.; grandchildren: Asya Knight, Michael Houston III and Asaiah Houston; siblings: David Cross, Sharon Hood, Dwight Cross, James Cross and Dale Cross; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
