Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE CHAPEL (850-942-1950) .

Funeral Services are 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 8, 2026, at New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 1401 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303, with burial to follow in New Mt. Zion A.M.E. Cemetery, 2909 Old Bainbridge Road, Tallahassee, FL 32303.

Terris Bertie Moore was born November 27, 1946, in Saint George, Barbados, to the great Adolphus and Gertrude Cobham Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Margie Hunte of Manchester, NE; Ileane Cumberbatch; and Shirl Moore, both of Barbados.

Terris, affectionately known as "Joe," was born in Barbados and later moved to South Florida, traveling from city to city while working in the orange groves. He eventually made a life-changing move to Tallahassee, where he began working at Shoney's restaurant. There, he met Laurie Dozier Jr., who offered him an opportunity to work at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Terris dedicated 16 years to the hospital, working overnight shifts. He started in Housekeeping and later transitioned into a Surgical Technician role. During this time, he met his beautiful wife of 29 years, Diane. Back in 2008, he was baptized by Elder James L. Byrd, serving faithfully as a member of the Men's Usher Board #1 at New Mount Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church.

Each morning after his hospital shifts, Terris would return home to change clothes before heading back out to do yard work for families including Dr. Laurie and Margaret Dozier Jr., Dr. Terry and Sarah Sherraden, and M.T. Mustian. He also worked four years at Community Hospital before becoming a full-time business owner. For over 30 years, these families treated our family with love, kindness, and unwavering support. Terris was known as a hardworking, loving, kind, humble, and spiritual man who loved wrestling, the Miami Hurricanes, and the Miami Dolphins.

Terris leaves his love and legacy to his devoted wife, Diane Smith-Moore; one stepdaughter: LaSadie Brown; two stepsons: Joseph Simmons and LaDuane Douglas; ten granddaughters; eleven great-grandchildren, whom he loved dearly throughout 29 years of marriage; three sisters: Grace Padmore and Hazel Jones, both of St. George, Barbados, and Iris Moore of Manchester, NE; one brother, Michael Moore of St. George, Barbados; a devoted niece, Minister Rosalyn Magowan of Manchester, NE; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Moore and to serve the Moore Family.
