Vera Ann Greenwood, 68, of Greenville, FL, passed at home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 17, at Allen Chapel AME Church, with burial in New Bethel Cemetery, Monticello. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at Allen Chapel. Born in Burlington, NJ, Ms. Greenwood grew up in Greenville where in 1973 she graduated Greenville High School. She later graduated from FAMU and worked as a Research Analyst for the Governor's Office. A devoted member of Allen Chapel, she had served as a Steward, Stewardess, Class Leader, Church Secretary and Trustee. She also was Secretary of the Pallbearers Lodge and Past President of the Women's Regal Club. Survivors include her sister, Rebecca Greenwood; brothers: Jamie and Thad Greenwood; nephew: Travis (Shawn) Greenwood; nieces: Vanessa (Mike) Moody, Bethany and Jameika Greenwood; close friend, LaKaye Evans; and numerous other relatives and friends.
