Vicky Lynette Henry Johnson, 65, of Tallahassee passed unexpectedly on Thursday, August 1, 2024. Funeral services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 10, at Bethel AME Church, with burial in Oakland Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). A 1977 Godby High graduate, Vicky earned her Bachelor's degree in Political Science from FAMU and her Master's in Public Administration from FSU. She held various positions in State government and served as Ombudsman for the Office of Academic Affairs at FAMU. A member of Bethel, she had been Director of Youth Ushering. Survivors include her husband, Darrell Johnson, Sr.; son, Darrell (Princess) Johnson II; grandchildren: Braylon and Harper Johnson; brothers: Willie C. (Rose) and Timothy (Barbara) Henry; sisters: Althea Jenkins, Mary Henry, Pauline Hodges, Everline Hamm, Vivian Browdy, Pearl and Inez Henry and Joan Wimberly; mother-in-law, Rosa Johnson; and a host of other relatives and friends. Vicky's parents, Samuel Sr. and Florence Brown Henry; and her siblings, Samuel Jr., Marie and Virginia all preceded her in death.
