Walter Lee Tyson departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at St. Rilla M.B. Church. Viewing-visitation is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553). Burial will follow in Mt. Olive (Capps) Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Jefferson County, Walter attended public schools of the Community. He was a longtime member of Mt. Olive and an avid FSU football fan. His love and memory will be cherished forever by his loving mother, Mrs. Essie Mae Hall Tyson, Monticello, FL; Minister Carl (Debra) Tyson, Raleigh, NC; sisters: Brenda Jean Tyson and Janice (Ted) Crumity; sister-in-law, Erma R, Tyson, all of Monticello, FL; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends. Walter's father, Sumpter Tyson and his brothers, Willie J. Tyson and Ernest Smith preceded him in death.
