God saw that he was suffering; the hills were hard to climb, He gently closed his weary eyelids and whispered Peace be Thine...God called our beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to eternal rest on Tuesday, January 13, 2026.
Warren Harold Hill was born on December 1, 1958, at the former Florida A&M University Hospital to Wilburn Lincoln Hill and Hattie Irene Rosier Capers.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Kathleen Holmes, Annie Rolle and Thelma Hill Mack; brothers: Richard Capers and Willie James Capers; brother -in-law: James "Pilgrim" Morgan; and niece: Stephanie Barkley.
Warren was educated in the Leon County Public School System and proudly represented James S. Rickards High School as a member of the football team and the Track and Field program, where he excelled in the shot put. His athletic spirit, paired with his personality, earned him the name "Fatback" due to his athletic build.
Warren's smile was unmistakably bright, genuine, and capable of lifting the spirits of anyone around him. He enjoyed watching the news and football, and he never hesitated to share his thoughts about the day's events with anyone willing to listen. A natural planner, Warren carefully organized his days weeks, and the people involved with remarkable intention. He was also a writer, not a poet, but an author of his own journey.
Warren faithfully wrote down details about people, places and experiences, keeping records of the people he met, the places he went, and the things he needed to do. His notes were reflections of a life lived with purpose and awareness.
Most importantly, Warren was a believer. He understood that life's challenges could be heavy; but he found strength in his relationship with the Lord. In obedience to God's command and upon his profession of faith, Warren was baptized on December 13, 2012.
Warren loved his family deeply and openly. You never had to wonder how he felt, he told you, he posted it, and he celebrated every milestone with you. He never forgot a birthday, and if a family member received a shout -out on the radio, you could be sure Warren was behind it.
Left to cherish Warren's memory are his daughters: LaToya (Andrew) Fryson and April Hill; three beloved granddaughters: Bryclyn M. Jefferson, Aivyn P. Hill and Laiani M. Fryson; sisters: Allene Morgan, Tallahassee, FL and Wilburn Hill (Harvey) Lewis of Quincy, FL; brothers: Vernon "Jack" Gilbert, Leo (Earnestine) Peace and Bobby Peace, all of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly. WARREN'S life was a testament to love, faith, and family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
It is our profound honor to have been entrusted with the care of Mr. Hill and to serve the Hill Family.
