Dr. William Lloyd Nealy, Sr., 75, of Houston, TX, departed his earthly life on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. A funeral service to honor his memory will be held on Saturday, 11:00 a.m., July 22, at St. James AME Church, Quincy, FL. Viewing-visitation is Friday 4-6 p.m. at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE, 4006 Crawfordville Rd., Tallahassee. Dr. Nealy retired from Texas Southern University after 38 years of outstanding service in several administrative and instructional capacities. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dr. Shirley Rhodes Nealy; daughter, Deirdre Keaton; sons: William L. (Dionne) Nealy II and Kevin Nealy; grandchildren: Brianna, William III, Darien and Brittany Nealy; sister, Celestine (Victor) Holman; seven brothers-and-sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends. Dr. Nealy was predeceased by his parents, Presiding Elder James L. Nealy and Essie Mae Gunn Nealy; his paternal grandparents, Reverend Dorsey Nealy and Gussie Alexander Nealy; and his maternal grandparents, Mannie Gunn and Carrie Thigpen Gunn.
