Willie Edmon "Hunty" Pelt, 84, of Monticello passed in Tallahassee on Wednesday, July 10, 2024. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Greater Fellowship M.B. Church. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Friday at TILLMAN OF MONTICELLO (850-997-5553). Born in Dothan, AL, Mr. Pelt was a 1959 graduate of Lincoln Park Academy, Ft. Pierce, FL. For many years, he lived in Miami. A master framer, Willie developed a distinguished customer following at Associated Artists and ultimately launched Pelts Custom Framing, Inc., Miami's first black-owned picture framing company. A true family man, he taught his three daughters just as if they were his sons. Willie loved fishing, basketball and playing cards. Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years, Johnnie Isaac Pelt; three loving and doting daughters: Andrea Pelt (Stanley) Thornton, Felicia and Michelle Pelt; four grandchildren: Jamarqus Nightingale, Michaela Jones, Soraya Campbell and Jeffrey (Lilly) Thornton; and a host of other relatives and friends.
