It is with utmost respect, we announce the passing of Mr. Willie Smith , age 85, of Lamont, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

WILLIE LEE SMITH was born in Lamont, Florida on July 29, 1940. He was the only child born to the union of Primus Smith and Lily Bell Smith, both who preceded Willie to Glory.

WILLIE grew up in his native Lamont. When he was in his late teens, Willie moved to Southwest Florida and settled in Punta Gorda. He worked hard and enjoyed a stellar career with Punta Gorda's Department of Sanitation, retiring as a Supervisor. Following his retirement, he and his wife, the former Betty Louise Perry, retired to make Lamont home.

In most recent years, WILLIE experienced several major health challenges. On Saturday, February 7, 2026, Willie went Home to be with the Lord. His love and legacy will be cherished forever by his loving and devoted wife: Betty Louise Perry Smith; stepdaughters: Theresa (Darnell) Howard, Lehigh Acres, FL, Greta (Andy) Smith, Hinesville, GA and Ethel Sturgis of Ft. Myers, FL; stepson: Darvis (Cynthia) Thomas of Ft. Myers, FL; along with several step-grandchildren, other relatives and loving friends.
