Obituary

It is with humble and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Ms. Zahkia Patreece Wilson, 27, of Tallahassee, Florida, who departed this earthly life on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. 

Viewing-visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2026, at Casa Bianca Missionary Baptist Church, 1097 Waukeenah Hwy, Monticello, FL 32344.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the Jefferson County High School Auditorium, 579 S. Water Street, Monticello, FL 32344, with burial to follow in Springfield Cemetery.

Zahkia Patreece Wilson of Monticello, Florida was born on June 22, 1998, in Tallahassee, Florida to Eric and Miesha Wilson. Zahkia departed this life leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unforgettable memories that will forever live in the hearts of all who knew her.

Zahkia attended Lincoln High School, where she graduated as a proud member of the Class of 2016. After graduation, she began her professional career as a Walmart Customer Service Associate and later transitioned to the Department of Corrections, where she served as a dedicated Human Resources Supervisor. Zahkia approached every role in her life with determination, compassion, and grace. She confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age.

She was known by many as "Eric's Baby Girl", "Princess Kia", and "Big Mama". Zahkia was deeply loved throughout her community. She possessed a spirit that was warm, genuine, and welcoming to everyone she encountered. Her beautiful smile could light up any room, and her peaceful personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her. She carried herself with confidence, love, and grace, making it easy for others to feel comforted in her presence. Zahkia found joy in the simple things that brought people together. She loved babysitting, shopping, crafting, traveling, and cooking for those she loved. Her caring heart and selfless nature made her a source of strength and encouragement to family and friends. Though her life was far too short, Zahkia's love, and beautiful spirit will never be forgotten. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and remembered by all whose lives she touched.

Mourning Kia's sudden death are her three adorable and loving sons: Kameron, Kaiden, and Kayson Brooks; her fiancé, Davontay Brooks of Tallahassee, FL; loving mother and bonus dad: Miesha and Antonio Dawkins of Crawfordville, FL; brothers: Robert (Cortney) Nealy, Jr. and Keondrae Wilson, both of Tallahassee, FL; sisters: Lariesha Wilson of Monticello, FL, Ericca and Ciara Wilson, both of Tallahassee, FL and Tiana Wilson of Dallas, TX;; grandparents: Allen and Mazarine McMullen of Penney Farms, FL, Leverne and Elvira Wilson, Sr., and James and Lashara Macon, Jr., all of Monticello, FL; uncles: James (Laletha) Macon III, Kelvin (Shakeira) Salters, Quezz J. Macon, Lorenzo Wilson, all of Tallahassee, FL, Alex Wilson, Fresno, TX, Leverne (Nancy) Wilson, Jr., Kris (Monica) Wilson, Jabori Williams and Darren White, all of Monticello, FL; aunts: Antonia McMullen, Green Cove Springs, FL, Keshia McCloud, Monticello, FL and Kimberly (Kendra) Gilley of Miami, FL; god mother: Patricia (Ronald) Graham, Sr.; god sister: Zamahni Dawson; god brothers: Ronald Graham, Jr., Lonnie Williams, Jr., Jarkyce Williams and Tyler Wilson; goddaughter: Sa'Rai "Tink" Ellis of Jacksonville, FL; sisters-in-love: Shonniece Hakins, Madison, FL and Ashonti Brooks of Jacksonville, FL; great-aunts: Mary Randolph, Sadie Swan, Gloria J. Monroe, all of Monticello, FL and Wanda Wilson of Thomasville, GA; great-uncles: Hopkins (Burnette) Thompson, Willie J. Thompson, James (Kim) Wilson, all of Monticello, FL, and Willie James (Barbara) Rivers of Winter Haven, FL. Zahkia leaves behind a host of sorrowing nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Zahkia was preceded in death by her father: Eric Bernard Wilson, Sr.; brother: Eric Bernard Wilson, Jr.; and grandmother: Rosena Singleton. 

It is our esteemed honor to have been entrusted with the care of Ms. Wilson and to serve the Wilson family.
