Betty Sue Bivins Tyler was born in Tallahassee-Leon County, Florida on April 16, 1945. She was the daughter of JC Bivins and Ella Duval Bivins, both who now have preceded Betty in death. Betty was also predeceased by her brother, JC, Jr. and her sisters, Evelyn and Hannah.

Betty grew up in her native Tallahassee where she attended the public schools of Leon County. She learned early in life the art of cooking, an art that she thoroughly mastered over the years. A devoted homemaker, she worked for more than ten years as a driver for AVIS Rental Cars. In her role at AVIS, she was responsible for shuttling vehicles to and from their assigned locations. She was well-known by the staff at each rental car agency, especially by those persons assigned to the Tallahassee Airport.

In recent years, Betty experienced declining health and on Sunday, February 9, 2020, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family, she went to be with the Lord. Her love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of those who loved her and those whom she loved, including her devoted husband: Leroy Tyler of Tallahassee, FL; son: Lewis (Crystal) Green, Jr., of Tallahassee, FL; daughters: Angela Jenkins, Newark, NJ and Tammie (Keith) Bivins of Tallahassee, FL; several grandchildren: brothers: Herbert Bivins, Gainesville, FL, Willie (Darlene) Bivins and Kenny (Marsha) Bivins of Tallahassee, FL; sisters: Mary Ann Thompson, Annie Bivins and Barbara (Frank) Billingslea; sister-in-law: Shirley Bigelow; a goddaughter: Latoshia Wilson, all of Tallahassee, FL; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, co-workers and friends.
