Rupert Sylvester Bennett, Retired U.S. Army Staff Sergeant, passed on Wednesday, June 15, 2022. Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Old West Enrichment Center, with burial at 1:00 p.m. in Tallahassee National Cemetery. Viewing is 4-6 p.m. Tuesday at TILLMAN OF TALLAHASSEE (850-942-1950). Sgt. Bennett was a FAMU graduate and a devoted member of Simon Temple AME Zion Church. He was employed as a Department Hospital Services Coordinator with the Veterans Administration. Survivors include his loving wife, Antionette Fitz Bennett; children: Briya (Christopher) Flowers, Brandon (Johnique) and Brayland (Derica) Bennett; 4 grandchildren; parents: Louise Jefferson Bennett and Rupert (Earlene) Bennett, Sr.; siblings: Marilyn Smith and Cedric (Patrice) Bennett, Sr.; sister-in-law, Sabrina (Paul, deceased) Bennett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
